APO constructed the solar farm in its Lima printing facility in 2016. It installed 2,100 solar panels and 20 inverters, generating a total capacity of 350 kilowatts. The solar farm has automatic metering and an on-grid connection, which can adapt to weather changes and balance the existing power grid and the sun’s output.

The most immediate benefit of installing a solar farm is economical. APO saved 5% of its energy cost at the outset, even as the energy prices rose. Now, APO is saving 8% to 9% of total power consumption. 

Because of this initiative, APO receives a Sustainability Award last March 3, 2023, from Lima Land, Inc. to acknowledge its positive impact on the environment and the community.
